Two people have been injured and a Colorado man is dead after a horrific car accident in Las Vegas, Nevada over the weekend.
According to the Denver Post, the man killed was 24-year-old Donnie Myron Jones of Cortez, Colorado. Jones was exiting the freeway in his Pontiac Sunfire when he collided with a Chevy Tahoe. The driver of the Tahoe was reported to have received only minor injuries while Jones' passenger was said to be in the hospital in critical condition. The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Investigators from the Nevada Highway Patrol believe alcohol may have been a factor in the deadly crash.
DUI related crashes kill about 170 people every year in Colorado. A five year average for Nevada puts the number of alcohol related deaths in that state at about 132 per year.
