A palisade woman whose children died after she apparently locked them in the car will go to trial, according to the Denver Post. Heather Jensen is charged with criminally negligent homicide, child abuse resulting in death, and false reporting to authorities. She is accused of leaving her 2-year-old and 4-year-old sons locked in her car with the heater on for more than an hour while she was in another vehicle nearby using drugs. After waiving her right to a preliminary hearing, she has turned down a plea agreement and will stand trial in front of a jury. The boys’ father died less than a year before they did. Their paternal grandparents, and a family friend have said that they are glad that the mother will stand trial.
